Sacroplasty

A sacroplasty is a procedure where cement is injected into the sacrum in order to reduce low back and buttock pain caused by a sacral fracture. The procedure typically includes the use of a small balloon that is inflated in the vertebral body to create a void within the bone prior to cement delivery. Once the void is created, the cement is delivered. Sacroplasty is usually an outpatient procedure.
