Spine Tumor Surgery

Spinal tumor surgery is unique to each patient and can involve a variety of treatments. Your doctor will determine what is needed to help you heal based on the stability of the bones and nerves. Often, a spinal fusion is needed to stabilize the spine with instrumentation. A corpectomy (removal of vertebrae) may be needed to remove or de-bulk the tumor. Surgery can be combined with other treatments such as radiation, chemotherapy, or bracing.
